As a practitioner, the moment you wake up, spend a few minutes setting your motivation for the day.
Make a sincere aspiration that whatever you do today will be meaningful and beneficial, both for yourself and for others. Most importantly, resolve not to indulge in actions motivated by non-virtue.
After taking your morning shower, offer fresh water and incense at the altar. Then make three prostrations as an expression of respect, purification, and the accumulation of merit. Recite your daily prayers and practices, and include a short session of meditation.
From morning until evening, remain mindful of your body, speech, and mind. Observe your actions carefully and do not allow negative emotions such as anger, attachment, jealousy, or hatred to control your behavior. Most importantly, maintain continuous mindfulness and awareness throughout your daily activities.
Before going to bed, spend a few minutes reflecting on how you lived your day. If your actions were meaningful and beneficial, rejoice in them and dedicate the merit with the aspiration that others may also engage in virtuous and beneficial actions.
However, if you recognize that some of your actions were influenced or poisoned by negative emotions, acknowledge them with a genuine sense of regret. Resolve not to repeat those actions and strengthen your determination to improve.
Above all, learn not to give unnecessary space to negative emotions. Recognize them when they arise, remain aware of them, and let them pass without allowing them to control your thoughts, words, or actions.
In this way, each day becomes an opportunity to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, wisdom, and virtue. A meaningful practice is not limited to meditation on the cushion; it is the way we live every moment of our life
