"Essence of Buddha was first taught by the Third Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje and it is an essential philosophical text of the Kagyu Tradition. Considered to be one of the most profound teachings on Buddha Nature, it clarifies the qualities of Buddhahood, the relevance of the Bodhisattva path and the pivotal role the guru-disciple relationship plays in recognising our Buddha Nature.

Presented as a lightly edited transcript, Essence of Buddha gives a clear, simple and concise explanation of the ultimate nature of mind.

H.E the 12th Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche is the supreme holder of the Zurmang Whispering Lineage. Recognised by the H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa while still in his mother's womb, he is the twelfth of an unbroken line of incarnations which began in the 14th century. Rinpoche has a wonderful ability to present the Dharma simply and clearly with a brilliant sense of humour, bringing home to us the wisdom of the Buddha's teachings and its necessary application in our daily life.
