Jealousy and Pride

Jealousy and pride can blind us to seeing what is ethical and meaningful in our lives. Without wisdom acquired through listening, contemplation, meditation,

and especially the proper guidance of qualified teachers, we can assume that our future is bleak. It may be hard for us not to follow the footsteps of our negative emotions because such attitudes come naturally, and unfortunately, the acts of jealousy and pride will guarantee our downfall in the near future. It may be hard to be positive and wise, and not to get trapped by these emotions. However, unless we are driven by stupidity and ignorance, we should always make the right move with open hearts. There is no better option than to make our lives meaningful and to be respectful to each other.

Moreover, it is difficult to know what others are thinking even though we may be looking at the same thing, such as a beautiful or unpleasant object. Though we may look very different in terms of race and gender, we may very well have the same feelings. Therefore, in my opinion, we have to respect each other and try to see the positive qualities of others, instead of just focusing on the negative qualities. In this way, we will become a better and more understanding person.
