The Importance of Ngondro - Gharwang Rinpoche

Many of us may have different opinions regarding the practice of Ngondro or Four Foundation Practices,

and some may even advise others to practice later or just learn the Dharma. However, according to many well accomplished Gurus, Ngondro is the most important part of the practice in Vajrayana Tradition. Such practices will assit us to build up confidence in pursuing our goals. Moreover, it gives us a sense of urgency on why we need to practice now, not later and also the reason why it is important to practice and not just to listen. Or else there is a danger of losing faith and respect towards our belief. I personally feel that if we want our practice to develop a stronger foundation then Ngondro is very important requirement.
