Purpose of Dharma - Gharwang Rinpoche

Learning dharma is the first step towards acquiring wisdom and securing our freedom.

However, if we fail to practice then it is like not following the purposeful advice of a Doctor. Without following it, there is very slim chance of curing our diseases which are the main causes of our pain and hurdles in life; such as our harmful emotions which keep disturbing us day and night. Moreover, what this tells us is that as far as knowledge goes, it is only meaningful if we embrace and apply whenever necessary, otherwise it will not guarantee us what we wish for. Though learning is important but it is more helpful if we practice and this is the sole purpose of learning and acquiring knowledge.
