Something written about Zurmang by Great Masters.....

"...the special transmission of the profound and vast instruction of ripening and liberation of the Dakpo Hearing Lineage fell to the Zurmang Kagyu and it continues unbroken up to the present."

"Each spiritual adept of the four great and eight lesser Kagyu lineages opened such an infinite multitude of dharma doors that it cannot be measured or encompassed. Nevertheless, it is said that it can all be subsumed into two: the path of method related to the tantras and the hearing lineage related to blessing from the extent of Jetsun Mila’s instructions… The extensive application from scriptures in connection with the intention of the profound sutras and secret tantras of those two subjects can only be realised from the excellent teachings of the all-knowing GARWANG CHEN-NGA and others”

--------The Treasury of Knowledge-Esoteric Instructions, pg 230 Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye

"The Karma Kamtsang has two separate traditions within it. The first of those is the [Zurmang] Kagyu. One of the main students of the fifth Karmapa was Ma-se Lodro Rinchen, also known as Trung Ma-se, who was a realised master of the Khandro Nyingtik teachings. Trung Ma-se was given the Chakrasamvara Dakini Hearing lineage called the Three Cycles of the Precious Jewel.  He established [Zurmang] Monastery, from which the [Zurmang] Kagyu lineage developed" ---

pg 140 The RI-ME PHILOSOPHY of Jamgon Kongtrul the Great under Chapter 4 History of the Eight Practice Lineages

"the Kamtsang Kagyu lineage has a large number of experiential instructions on Mahamudra from both Indian and Tibetan sources.  These experiential instructions cover the Six Yogas of Naropa, and the Six Yogas according to the tradition called the Castle of the Son, which came from Marpa.  They also train according to Karmapa Rangjung Dorje's Profound Inner Meaning and his writings on the Two Segments Tantra and the Sublime Continum.  They have countless teachings from the [Zurmang] hearing lineage related to empowerments, transmissions, and pith instructions, as well as the [Zurmang] Chod empowerments, transmissions, and experiential instructions." --

pg 178 The RI-ME PHILOSOPHY of Jamgon Kongtrul the Great under Chapter 5 Teachings of the Eight Practice Lineages

‎"Honestly, it's hard to find a match for the quality of the lamas at  [Zurmang] among the Kagyu lineages."
